SINGAPORE - Motorists will have an easier time navigating their way to an empty parking spot here through the use of a new app called Park&Go @SG.

This is the first product released by the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Lab, a collaboration between Continental Automotive and A*Star's Institute for Infocomm Research (I²R) as well as TUM Create, which is a collaboration between the Nanyang Technological University and the Technical University of Munich.

Information from a total of 60 per cent of car parks in Singapore, including those under the Housing Board, the Land Transport Authority as well as commercial buildings, will be collated by the app.

The app also provides navigation to car parks and identifies which carparks have disabled lots and washing bays.

ITS is now working on adding information on carparks with charging stations for electric vehicles, and data on autonomous vehicles.

Park&Go @SG is currently available on the Google Play Store for Android devices. An iOS version is expected to be launched by the middle of next year.
