Residents in Sembawang can look forward to additional traffic safety features in their neighbourhood. A new traffic light camera will be installed at the junction of Sembawang Drive and Admiralty Link and in addition to this, two new bicycle crossings at Sembawang MRT and Sembawang Mart were put in place recently.

This was announced by Law and Home Affairs Minister Mr K. Shanmugam, who is also grassroots adviser to the area. He was speaking at the launch of a Canberra constituency week-long safety campaign at Endeavour Primary School on Monday.

As part of the campaign, badges, bookmarks and a song performance video featuring students of Endeavour Primary School will be used to remind students from six schools in the area to cross roads safely.

Two students were killed in separate traffic accidents at Sembawang Drive in January and October last year.
