SINGAPORE - Spectators young and old on Tuesday (Aug 9) started arriving in Kallang as early at 3pm, as the National Day Parade returned to the National Stadium for the first time in a decade.

Clad in red tops and braving the blazing afternoon sun, many stood patiently in line for the mandatory security screening as the 55,000-seat stadium slowly filled with a sea of red.

Despite not having tickets, Singaporeans and expatriates alike mingled freely outside the stadium, hoping for a glimpse of the fireworks display at the end of the parade.

With the stadium designated a gym and many landmarks in the vicinity marked as PokeStops, there was also no shortage of Pokemon Go players joining in the festivities.
