National Service registration starts from Jan 2, for those born in 1996

Singaporean male citizens and permanent residents born between Sept 11 and Dec 10 in 1996 must register for National Service between Jan 2 and Jan 21 next year.

They can register online at www.ns.sg or in person at the Central Manpower Base (CPMB) Podium at 3 Depot Road. Those registering at the CPMB must bring relevant documents specified in the registration notice, such as their identity card and education certificates.

Registrants may apply online or in person to postpone their enlistment to complete their studies. If the application for postponement is successful, the applicant will receive further notice as to when he should report for enlistment.

Unsuccessful applicants must arrange to go for a medical screening at the CPMB between Feb 20 and April 1, next year. For more information, registrants may call 1800-367-6767 or e-mail contact@ns.sg.
