This year's National Day Rally will be held on Aug 18, the Prime Minister's Office announced on Wednesday.

Unlike years past where the rallies were held in the University Cultural Centre, this time around PM Lee Hsien Loong will deliver his rally speech at the new ITE College Central.

In explaining the move, PM Lee said he chose the new venue because the campus reflects Singapore's commitment to education.

"This beautiful new campus reflects Singapore's commitment, and my longstanding priority, to invest in our young, and nurture every Singaporean to their full potential," he wrote.
