Nanyang Polytechnic students give seniors iPad crash course

SINGAPORE - A group of 50 students from Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) headed down to the Thye Hua Kwan Seniors Activity Centre in Bedok North on Wednesday, to teach older folk how to use an iPad.

Huddled around iPhones and iPads, the elderly aged 60 and above learnt the basic functions of the devices, such as swiping open the lock screen and using the camera and messaging functions.

It aims to get young and old people to get together through activities such as the iPad training session on Wednesday, which also included a game of Bingo and lunch.

The students will return next week to do a follow-up session and conduct more activities.
