SINGAPORE - A motorcyclist who noticed something was amiss with his bike parked it by the side of the road, only to see it catch fire.

The incident occurred at the junction of Moulmein Road and Balestier Road on Friday (June 9) evening.

The bike was at the side of the road, engulfed in flames, when The Straits Times arrived.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told ST it was alerted at 5.25pm and dispatched a fire engine, a Red Rhino and a fire bike to the scene.

SCDF extinguished the motorcycle on fire with a compressed air foam backpack.

There were no reported injuries, it said.
