PM Lee to undergo surgery for prostate cancer

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will undergo surgery today to remove his prostate gland. Mr Lee had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in January, after a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan showed suspicious lesions on his prostate. Expect Thai growth report

Thailand is set to report today its full-year 2014 economic growth, which the Bank of Thailand (BOT) forecasts at 0.8 per cent - an improvement from the zero growth in the first half of 2014. BOT governor Prasarn Trairatvorakul had said earlier this month that Thailand's economy will only slowly recover this year, and could grow by 4.5 per cent in the first half of 2015. - CHANG MAY CHOON
