Anwar Ibrahim's fate decided

Malaysia's opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim will learn the final verdict of a sodomy charge today, after nearly seven years and countless court hearings.

The Federal Court is set to convene at 9am to decide whether to overturn a conviction or uphold a five-year jail sentence that would likely end the former deputy prime minister's career and rob the ideologically disparate opposition of its unifying figure. - SHANNON TEOH

India election: Modi could suffer crucial blow

Election1

Will India Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffer its first major setback in the Delhi state election and lose to Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as predicted by exit polls?

Votes are being counted and the results will be out this afternoon. AAP is the first party to put up a credible opposition to BJP, which swept to power last May. A loss in the Indian capital will be a severe blow both to Mr Modi and the BJP. The party needs to win state elections in order to gain control of the Upper House of Parliament, so that Mr Modi can push through reforms on land acquisition, tax and other issues. - NIRMALA GANAPATHY

SEA Games memorabilia on sale at more places

Nila1
