Manpower initiative for eldercare
The National University Health System, an Academic Regional Health System, and Methodist Welfare Services, a multi-service welfare agency, will today (Sept 13) announce a new manpower partnership initiative between them for nursing homes to address the growing need for good elder care in Singapore. Not only is demand for nursing home care growing, the care required is also getting more complex. Thus, the need for Singapore's public healthcare sector and the country's nursing homes to work together to meet these evolving needs amidst manpower constraints.
US bomber flight over South Korea
The United States will conduct a bomber flight over South Korea today (Sept 13) , an official at United States Forces in Korea said, in what is seen as a show of force against North Korea after the reclusive state recently carried out its fifth nuclear test. South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that bad weather had delayed a planned US military B-1B bomber flight to the Korean Peninsula that had been scheduled for yesterday.
DPM Tharman to speak at Economy Society dinner
Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam will speak tonight (Sept 13) at the Economic Society of Singapore's 60th anniversary annual dinner.
