LAURELS FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Kindness Movement is holding its annual Kindness Awards ceremony today.

The ceremony recognises students who make a positive difference to their schools and communities.

Besides the awards ceremony, there will be an exhibition showcasing student projects on kindness. -ZHAKI ABDULLAH

More details on where Singapore's retail scene is headed this year will be released today.

And chances are retail is unlikely to see much improvement, the result of weaker growth.

Retail stores such as Challenger, Metro and FJ Benjamin have reported disappointing sales figures over the last quarter. Metro and FJ Benjamin saw losses in the three months to Sept 30 in their retail businesses while Challenger saw a slight dip in profits.

MODI TO ADDRESS 70,000 at WEMBLEY

On a three-day visit to Britain, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an estimated 70,000 people, most of them members of the Indian diaspora, at Wembley Stadium today (Nov 13).

Earlier in the day, he will lunch with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. His visit is expected to focus heavily on expanding trade links between the two nations.
