The Education Ministry (MOE) will be introducing more professional learning opportunities for teachers.

Teachers on the teaching track for senior and lead teachers will have attachment opportunities at the MOE's headquarters, including attachments with Master teachers.

And to give teachers more ownership of their own career development, starting this year, those keen on taking up higher appointments along the teaching track can apply for them. This is in addition to the current practice of nomination by school principals.

This was announced by Education Minister Heng Swee Keat at the MOE promotion ceremony on Tuesday. The ceremony was held to celebrate the promotion of about 400 educators, allied educators and executive and administrative staff. A total of 7,528 MOE officers have been promoted this year.
