The 2014 school year for all primary and secondary schools under the Education Ministry (MOE) will start on Jan 2 and end on Nov 14.

This consists of 40 weeks of curriculum time before national examinations begin and students break for six weeks of school vacation at the end of the year.

For junior college (JC) year 1 and Millennia Institute (MI) year 1 students, term one begins on Feb 6 and ends March 14. For students in MI year 2, JC year 2 and MI year 3, term one begins Jan 6 and ends March 14. Scheduled school holidays for 2014 include youth day on July 6, teachers' day on Sept 5 and children's day on Oct 3. Children's day only applies to primary schools and primary sections of full schools.
