Dr Yaacob, who is also the Minister-in-charge of Cybersecurity, will be in Washington from Sunday to Tuesday to hold discussions with White House cybersecurity officials and Congressional Cyber Leaders, and to broaden US-Singapore cooperation in cybersecurity, the Ministry of Communications and Information said in a press release on Saturday (July 8).
Singapore and the US had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in August 2016, which formalises both countries' commitment to work together in building a secure and resilient cyberspace through cybersecurity cooperation.
From Wednesday to Friday, Dr Yaacob will be in Canada, where he will meet the Canadian Ministers in-charge of technology and innovation portfolios to exchange perspectives and ideas on innovation, the digital economy and digital readiness.
