Beneficiaries of voluntary welfare organisations such as Peace-Connect Seniors Activity Centre, the Chinese Development Assistance Council and Transient Workers Count Too enjoying a dragon dance performance by Hong Jie Association at the Esplanade yesterday.

This was part of the Esplanade's Moonfest lantern walkabout for the Mid-Autumn celebrations.

After the walkabout, the audience was treated to free performances of Hokkien opera by Shuang Ming Feng Hokkien Opera Troupe at the Moonfest Chinese Opera Stage.

The walkabout was among a myriad of activities organised around the island yesterday to celebrate the Mid-Autumn or Mooncake festival, which is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. That falls on Thursday this year.
