SINGAPORE - A mega-yacht belonging to Microsoft's co-founder, billionaire Paul Allen, has docked in Singapore waters at the Keppel Marina.

As of Wednesday (Oct 11), the vessel was still berthed here.

The Octopus is a 126m-long luxury yacht, fully kitted out with amenities like a pool, two helicopter pads, a movie theatre and basketball court.

It is one of the biggest yachts in the world, and was built at an estimated cost of US$200 million (S$271 million).

Microsoft declined to comment on whether Mr Allen is on board, although he is known to rent out the yacht for scientific exploration and research.

It is decked out with two submarines, which have been used in a variety of deep-sea wreckage and search and rescue missions.

The Octopus was recently around regional waters. On Aug 18, it found the wreckage of the World War II heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis in the Philippine sea, 72 years after it was sunk by a Japanese submarine.
