The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Monday announced the appointment of Dominic Goh as Singapore's Ambassador to Laos and Ong Keng Yong as the country's Non-Resident High Commissioner to Pakistan.

Mr Goh, who will assume the post on Jan 12, 2015, joined the MFA in October 1994 and most recently served as Director General (Europe).

Mr Ong has served in several key positions since joining MFA in 1979. He is currently MFA's Ambassador-at-Large, as well as executive deputy chairman of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and director of the school's Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies.

The veteran diplomat was Singapore's High Commissioner to Malaysia (July 2011 to Nov 2014) and to India (Aug 1996 to Aug 1998), Secretary-General of ASEAN from Jan 2003 to Jan 2008 and served as Press Secretary to then-Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong between Sept 1998 to Dec 2002.
