The metal sheeting of the overhead bridge linking Peace Centre and Wilkie Edge has come loose. This prompted the closure of Sophia Road.
It is understood that the sheets became loose after the heavy storm on Tuesday night.
Mr Rilesh Ravindran, 29, who works at Peace Centre, said he saw the metal peeling off at about 11.55am. The sales executive added that he called the police immediately.
Three police cars and five policemen were at the scene on Wednesday when The Straits Times visited the site at about 12.50pm. They cordoned off the road and cautioned pedestrians to stay away. No one was injured.
