The Health Ministry is increasing Medisave withdrawal limits for MediShield and Integrated Shield plans premiums from Nov 1 this year.

The increases are as follows: From $800 currently to $1,000 for those aged 66 to 75; from $1,000 currently to $1,200 for those aged 76 to 80; and from $1,200 currently to $1,400 for those aged 81 and above.

The Medisave withdrawal limits were adjusted on March 1 this year to fully support the premiums for MediShield, and increase the support for the premiums of Integrated Shield plans offered by private insurers. This further round of changes will enable Singaporeans to use more Medisave in paying for premiums for the private Integrated Shield plans, said MOH in a statement on Friday. The revised Medisave withdrawal limits will apply to all MediShield and Integrate Shield policies renewed or commenced from Nov 1.

Parliamentary Secretary for Health and TransportMuhammad Faishal Ibrahim said on the sidelines of the Intermediate and Long-term Care (ILTC) Quality Festival on Friday that the decision to increase Medisave withdrawal limits was made after hearing feedback from Singaporeans. "We want to make sure Singaporeans are able to afford the premiums to protect themselves, so that they are able to live a good life with peace of mind," he said.
