Masagos to visit Kuwait and Bahrain as part of efforts to strengthen ties

SINGAPORE - Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will be in Bahrain and Kuwait from April 19-22 as part of the country's efforts to strengthen its engagement with members of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The visit by Mr Masagos, who is also a Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs, is also to commemorate 30 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and both countries.

Mr Masagos will start his trip in Kuwait, where he will call on several leaders including His Excellency Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He will then head to Bahrain on April 20 to hold meetings with leaders such as the Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

Accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Civil Service College, International Enterprise Singapore and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Mr Masagos will also meet with members of the Singapore community.
