In a quick visit on the first evening of the alcohol ban, Senior Minister of State for Home and Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli dropped in to see how the situation at Little India was, visiting businesses and talking to police who were keeping watch.

The 30-minute visit at 9pm Saturday saw Mr Masagos take a tour of businesses along Kerbau Road, Serangoon Road and Buffalo Road. He also spoke to the proprietor of Gandhi Restaurant at Race Course Road, a provision shop staff, and a Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (Lisha) representative on business plans for the area.

At the end of his visit, he thanked police and Special Operations Command officers for keeping the peace in the area and said their presence was appreciated.
