Man's leg trapped in train platform gap at Bugis MRT station

SINGAPORE - A man who was trapped in the gap at the train platform of Bugis MRT station on Sunday afternoon was rescued by SMRT employees.

The man, who was in his 50s, had his right leg wedged between the train and the platform said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SCDF said they received a call for help at 2.11pm, but when they arrived the man had been freed.

He had bruises on his right leg, and was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Commuter Joshua told Stomp that SMRT staff cut the man's trousers, and freed him using soap.

"SCDF later arrived and told us to clear out the area or go back into the train, while the man was taken away in a wheelchair," Stomp quoted him as saying.
