SINGAPORE - A man was found dead at the foot of a basement staircase of the Thomson V building on Sin Ming Road on Wednesday morning.

Cleaner Oh Soh Guat, who is in her 50s, discovered the body when she arrived at work at around 9am.

She said: "I saw him lying there and I called out but he didn't respond so I went to tell my boss."

Another witness said the victim was in his 60s and had often been seen hanging around the area.

When The Straits Times arrived at the scene, police were speaking to family members, including the man's relatives who declined to speak to the media.
