SINGAPORE - Customers will be able to send greeting cards to their loved ones for less this Deepavali.

To promote festive greetings during this major festival, Singapore Post (SingPost) is lowering its postal rates from October 20.

It will cost 70 cents to send a greeting card (weighing up to 40g) anywhere in the world except Malaysia and Brunei. This is a discount of between 42 and 65 per cent , depending on the destination.

The new rates for a greeting card in an irregular size or shape sent locally are 30 cents (for weight up to 20g) and 37 cents(for weight up to 40g). The usual postage rate for greeting cards of non-standard sizes is $0.60. The rates for those in standard sizes remains the same.

The revised rates will apply to all stamped and franked mails posted between October 20 and November 10.

This is the 14th year that SingPost is offering customers festive postage rates to promote festive greetings during Singapore's four major festivals - Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali and Christmas.

Customers can purchase stamps for their greeting cards at any post office, self-service automated machines (SAM), postal agents and stamp vendors.
