The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) submitted its recommendations for Budget 2016 to the Finance Ministry yesterday.

It calls on the Government to review the criteria for Employment Passes, and to distinguish between companies that are committed to hiring Singaporeans and those that are not.

It also wants better protection for contract and low-wage workers.

And on retirement, it suggested that the Government explore changing the single retirement age to a "more variegated" one beyond 62 for different industries.
