SINGAPORE - A stand-off ensued at Punggol Walk on Friday (Feb 12) afternoon, after a man in his 40s threatened to jump from an eight-storey flat.

It lasted at least two hours, with the authorities trying to calm him down.

The man is believed to have wielded a knife during the incident.

The SCDF said it received a call for assistance at 2.30pm.

SCDF officers deployed lifepacks after arriving on scene. Cordons were set up below the block, and SCDF officers also took up positions on ledges outside the unit.

The man was later arrested by the authorities, and no one was injured.
