A jaywalker was seriously injured when a tipper truck crashed into him on Tuesday morning.

The man, in his 40s, was crossing the two-lane Kranji Road, when the incident happened. He was taken unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

The driver of the tipper truck, a man in his 30s, is assisting the police in their investigations and has not been arrested as was previously reported. His truck was believed to have been travelling straight along Kranji Road at the time of the accident.

The police said they received a call at 8.05am informing them of the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
