Man pinned down on road in video had hit bus driver in dispute

SINGAPORE - A man who was being held down on Telok Blangah Road on Saturday (Dec 3) morning had reportedly attacked the bus driver during a dispute.

A video of the man being pinned down on the road by a group of men at about 8am on Saturday was sent to Stomp by a witness.

Police said that they were alerted to the incident of "voluntarily causing hurt" at 8.18am. Police investigations are ongoing.

The bus, which was on its way to Resorts World Sentosa, had stopped as it was running ahead of schedule, Shin Min Daily News reported.

The man, a passenger, wanted to alight but the bus driver would not open the door as they were not at a bus stop.

Frustrated, the man then climbed over the bus driver to exit from the driver's seat. The driver tried to stop him, but the man hit him instead, Shin Min said.

The driver and a few other passengers chased the man and nabbed him a short distance from the bus.
