A technician, who had consensual sex with a 14-year-old, was jailed on Monday for four months for underage sex. Ermie Ferlani Hassan, 25, told the minor that he was her boyfriend's colleague and got her contact details from her boyfriend's cellphone without her knowledge.

They met for the first time in April last year and the girl told Ermie she was 16. Some time in April, the two drank alcohol and had sex at a staircase landing of a multi-storey carpark near Chinese Gardens MRT station.

The minor subsequently contracted chlamydia, a sexually transmitted infection which can damage a woman's reproductive organs. Ermie, a technician who is now married with a child, pleaded guilty to the charge.

He could have been jailed up to five years and fined $10,000.
