SINGAPORE - A 39-year-old man died after a van he was driving and a car collided along Upper Paya Lebar road early Thursday morning.

The Chinese evening newspaper Lianhe Wanbao reported that both the van and the car rammed into a divider after both drivers lost control of their vehicles.

Mr Shen Wen Zhong and his 40-year-old wife, Ms Chen Xiu Qin, were trapped in the van, the paper reported.

Mr Shen's father told reporters that the couple has a 12-year-old son.

According to him, Ms Chen is warded at Tan Tock Seng Hospital but conscious. However, she is not aware that her husband has died in the accident, reported the newspaper.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
