Man decapitated after falling from 15th-storey hotel room in Jalan Sultan

SINGAPORE - A Vietnamese man was decapitated at Hotel Boss in Jalan Sultan early Wednesday (March 29) morning, his body found in a drain on a fifth-storey sky garden, and his head outside a fourth-storey restaurant.

Mr Nguyen Ngoc Duy, 23, is believed to have fallen from a 15th-storey room, and hit the sky garden's railing, severing his head from his torso, according to Lianhe Wanbao.

Another Vietnamese man, 21-year-old Vu Truong An, had a slash wound on his head, and was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

After Mr Nguyen fell, Mr Vu reportedly rushed to the first floor in the lift to seek help from hotel employees, who called the police.

In response to The Straits Times' query, police said it received a call for assistance at the location at 2.30am on Wednesday (March 29).

The 23-year-old was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene at 3.31am. The police is investigating the case as unnatural death.

Mr Nguyen was on a short-term visit pass, according to the Chinese evening daily, and was supposed to return to Vietnam at the end of March.

The hotel room had been booked by Mr Vu, an ITE student, and he had invited five friends for a staycation, including the deceased.

Lianhe Wanbao understands that an altercation had taken place between Mr Vu and Mr Nguyen, although it was unclear over what.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, Mr Nguyen's body was taken away at 8am.
