Police have arrested a man for stealing television sets from coffeeshops in the West Coast neighbourhood.

The 47-year-old was arrested at about 2am on Thursday morning in the vicinity of Clementi West Street 2. Three coffeeshop proprietors had lodged reports that TV sets mounted outside their coffeeshops had been stolen after they had shuttered for the night. Four TV sets were stolen between Monday and Thursday.

The stolen televisions and the tools used were recovered and seized by the police.

If convicted, the man could be jailed for up to three years, fined, or both.
