The police arrested a 30-year-old man who is believed to have outraged the modesty of a female commuter at Clementi MRT Station.

The 19-year old victim reported to the police on Monday morning that she had allegedly been molested by an unknown man when she was leaving the station.

Officers from the Clementi Police Division conducted investigations after the report was made and managed to establish the identity of the suspect. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning at Clementi MRT Station. If found guilty, the man faces a jail term of up to three years, or a fine, and caning.

In a statement on Tuesday, the police advised victims to raise the alarm by shouting for help immediately to attract attention and asking for help from fellow passengers. They should also take note of the culprit's physical description and call the police as soon as possible.
