Man arrested for breaking into 17th-storey flat in Punggol

SINGAPORE - A 25-year-old man has been arrested by the police, for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking by night.

The police had received a report on Saturday (Dec 17) at 7.07am, that an unknown subject had climbed into a 17th floor unit in Block 175A, Punggol Field.

After extensive ground enquiries were conducted by officers from Ang Mo Kio Division, the suspect was identified. He was arrested at 3.45pm on the same day.

Investigations are still ongoing.

Anyone who commits housebreaking by night can be fined and jailed up to three years.
