Man arrested for alleged housebreaking and theft

Police on Sunday arrested a 56-year-old man for alleged housebreaking and theft.

At 4.03pm that day, a case of housebreaking involving stolen office equipment and cash was reported at an office located along Jalan Kemaman, off Balestier Road. The missing equipment included one desktop, one laptop, two printers, one modem, three radio sets, two handphones, one air purifier, one speaker, one receipt printer and one safe.

After investigations, Tanglin Police Division officers managed to identify the suspect.

He was arrested in the vicinity of Balestier Road at 5.45pm on the same day. Office equipment, believed to be stolen, was seized from him.

For housebreaking and theft, he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
