A 30-year-old man has been remanded for psychiatric evaluation after he was charged on Wednesday with molesting a 15-year-old girl.

Jason Tan Zhiwei allegedly grabbed the buttocks of the student at an escalator at Toa Payoh MRT Station at about 9.30am on Tuesday.

He will be held at the Institute of Mental Health for assessment. His next court appearance is on Oct 23.

If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to two years or a fine or caning, or a combination of the sentences.
