SINGAPORE - MamyPoko, a popular brand of diapers, celebrated its iconic mascot's birthday on July 7 by gifting some new mothers at Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) with newborn essentials to welcome the latest addition to the family.

With support from Thomson Medical Centre, Unicharm organised the giveaway on July 5 as part of the latter's community outreach efforts.

The loveable Poko Chan, which is the Japanese baby care brand MamyPoko's iconic mascot, surprised new parents with specially put together goodie bags that included the new Made in Japan MamyPoko Air Fit diapers and an exclusive Poko Chan Pillow.

Needless to say, the proud parents were delighted with the thoughtful gift.

All parents know that reliable, comfortable and leak-proof diapers are their babies' best friend, because they keep bub's bottom clean and dry while offering superb convenience to busy parents.

Through high-quality products, MamyPoko supports parents through the child-rearing years by making diapers that are gentle and hygienic for baby to use and convenient for parents.

New mum, Madam Lu Ning, said: "I've been using Mamy Poko diapers for my older son since his birth as they are good to use and soft to the touch. They are also highly absorbent. I have tried other diapers but my son complained of itchiness."

She added: "With MamyPoko, I have not had any of such problems. I have a good impression of MamyPoko products and I look forward to trying out this new range of diapers."

Madam Bai Chunmei shared the same sentiments. She said: "I was surprised by the sight of Poko Chan but it was a good surprise as MamyPoko diapers are of good quality and do not leak. My older child is still using MamyPoko."

MamyPoko's latest diaper range, Air Fit, is their softest diaper yet, and is gentle on a baby's skin. Featuring a slim silhouette, it is made with "Air Silky" material and protects baby's delicate skin while absorbing up to 12 hours of urine. The breathable cover sheet ensures baby's bottom remains dry, an essential attribute because prolonged exposure to wetness means little ones are more prone to rashes and skin irritation.

Made in Japan, the Air Fit diapers use high absorbency material to provide maximum comfort and a silky smooth texture when worn against skin. It has been awarded and recognized as the No.1 diaper of choice for mothers in Japan. A curved shape for its tape diapers allows for a more comfortable fit around baby's bottom, and reduces up to 50 per cent of the pressure normally felt around the tummy when diapers are worn. Soft, stretchy gathers around the waist and leg cuffs provide the child with utmost comfort and freedom to move.

Parents can also choose to transition the pant diapers as bub grows from newborn to toddlerhood. These come with a wetness indicator for alerting caregivers when bub is due for a diaper change.
