SINGAPORE - A Land Transport Authority (LTA) motorcycle was pinned under a tipper truck in an accident along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Thursday (Feb 16).

The accident, which involved the bike, a trailer and two tipper trucks, left one driver injured.

Police told The Straits Times on Friday (Feb 17) that they were informed of the accident, which occurred after the Stevens Road exit, at 3.47pm.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told ST on Friday that it dispatched an ambulance, two fire bikes, a fire engine and a Red Rhino.

SCDF extricated a driver stuck in one of the vehicles within 10 minutes using a hydraulic cutter and spreader.

A 36-year-old male tipper truck driver was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Two of three lanes were temporarily closed, causing a traffic jam for nearly three hours, Shin Min Daily News reported on Friday.

Police investigations are ongoing.
