Log in to enjoy the full suite of digital news offerings from The Straits Times, and stand a chance to have dinner at some of the best restaurants in town.

That's what ST's print subscribers are being encouraged to do starting today, at no extra cost since the digital subscription is now free of charge to these customers.

From this month, the newspaper's All-in-One package - which includes both print and digital access - costs $29.90 a month, the same as a print-only subscription.

All print subscribers have been upgraded to the higher-tier All-in-One subscription. They only need to log in once to activate this.

Those who activate the digital access for their All-in-One subscription stand a chance to win prizes.

From now till next Sunday, upgraders can win complimentary dinners at five of Singapore's best restaurants.

Other print subscribers who wish to activate their All-in-One package can visit stsub.sg/activate and enter their subscription account number.

Eligible subscribers would have received an activation e-mail or letter from Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), ST's parent company, containing instructions on the activation process.

Readers who subscribe through newspaper vendors will first have to convert to a direct subscription with SPH to get the free upgrade to the All-in-One package and to qualify for the prizes.

Those on the All-In-One package get to browse a full e-paper version of ST, watch news video clips, read an unlimited number of stories and share all this on social media.

ST will also be widening the benefits available to this group. Among the perks will be priority or discounted access to events organised by ST and its many partners, as well as exclusive visits to the newsroom, during which readers can interact with editors and reporters.

ST editor Warren Fernandez said: "ST is no longer simply a print product. You can now get the news from ST on your smartphone, tablet or watch. ST is bringing the news to our readers through the day with videos, live blogs, interactive graphics, e-mail and alerts, as well as our award-winning website."

He added: "We want as many people as possible to enjoy this. Hence the upgrade for our loyal print subscribers. And there's a chance to win a great dinner on us too if they log in now to activate their digital access."
