Live coverage from Parliament: Immigration breach at Woodlands Checkpoint

Members of Parliament have tabled five questions on the immigration breach that happened on Jan 17. Malaysian Nurul Ruhana Ishak drove through the Woodlands Checkpoint without being stopped. The former teacher evaded police until Jan 20 when she entered the Foreign Affairs Ministry's compound without permission.

The 27-year-old has been charged with criminal trespass and remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for assessment.

Among the questions tabled by MPs are how the breach happened, what corrective measures have been taken and how many cases of such checkpoint evasion have occurred.
