A group of Indian nationals arrested in connection with Sunday's riot in Little India have been charged with rioting.

The 24 men, aged between 22 and 40, were brought to court in three different police vans before appearing in the dock to have their charges read out to them.

The court has ordered for all 24 of them to be remanded for a week to facilitate further investigations.

A representative from the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme told the court it is helping to secure lawyers for all the accused persons. Separately, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is working with Indian High Commissioner to facilitate legal representation for all the suspects involved in the case.
