It was a pizza extravaganza for pupils (from left) Celestine Lim, nine, and sisters Elina Kong, nine, and Sririta Kong, seven, yesterday. The three girls were among 34 beneficiaries of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund invited to a pizza-making workshop at Doughworkz by PastaMania at the Singapore Management University. The children, aged seven to 12, were taught how to prepare pizzas themselves and were introduced to various ingredients and their nutritional value. They were joined by about 20 staff volunteers from financial services company Capital Group, which sponsored the event as part of its Community Action Day. The day ended with games and a feast of handmade pizza and ice-cream.
