Laptop charity auction for beneficiaries from ST Pocket Money Fund

Twenty laptops will be up for auction, with bids starting from $199. All proceeds will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF) which gives low-income children money for breakfast among other things.

Electronics retailer Newstead Technologies donated the laptops and interested bidders can register on the company's website from Monday to March 24.

In the last "Bid to Give" charity auction held in April 2011, the highest bid for a laptop was $1,759 and a total of $50,000 was raised for SPMF.

The auction will be held at Jurong Point Shopping Centre on April 6 and 7.
