Kok Li Peng appointed Singapore's ambassador to the Philippines

SINGAPORE - The Government has appointed Ms Kok Li Peng as Singapore's Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said on Friday.

Ms Kok will assume the post on March 30, 2015. She joined MFA in 1995 and served as Director-General (Asean) from March 2012 to January 2015 and as Deputy Permanent Representative in the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations in New York from September 2008 to January 2012.

Ms Kok graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 1994. She obtained a Masters in Arts (Political Science) from Columbia University in 2006 on a Fulbright Scholarship. Ms Kok was also awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2008.
