SINGAPORE - An act of kindness was captured by author and cartoonist Otto Fong on Wednesday (May 24) morning.

Mr Fong shared a photo of a man in a motorcycle helmet clearing a large broken tree branch from the road.

He wrote: "Hero of this rainy morning: Jalan Bukit Merah. Good Samaritan uncle came down from his motorbike to clear the lane of fallen branches."

He took the photo through the window of the double-decker bus he was on, he said.

Mr Fong told The Straits Times that his first instinct was to wonder how long it would take for the authorities to remove the branch.

But he saw the man park his motorcycle and start to pick up the branches, and thought: "Wow, that's just really cool."

"This is someone just taking the initiative... and being a good example for others," he added.

Facebook user Ben Puah said in response to the post: "Time to time I do witness true good heroes in our common people such as this good man you taken photo of. They do good deeds naturally and not for world to know."
