CHILDAID 2011

Kids gear up for fireworks at ChildAid

With days to go to the ChildAid concert that will be held on Thursday and Saturday, the performers in this year's show have been rehearsing intensively at the Singapore Press Holdings Media Centre in Genting Lane.

Among them is a group of youngsters aged seven to 17 who will sing the hit pop song Firework by Katy Perry.

But amid the hard work, Miranda Ho, 15, a St Margaret's Secondary student, said: 'Rehearsals have been enjoyable and very fun. We get to meet new people.'

The annual event showcasing performers mostly aged 19 and below raises money for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund. Both charities help underprivileged children.

The main sponsors of this year's show are Citibank and HSBC Bank. The official venue partner is the National University of Singapore Centre for the Arts.

Tickets to the Thursday and Saturday shows are available at The Arts House box office, by phone on 6332-6919 or online at www.bytes.sg
