If it's yusheng, it's got to go higher... and longer, that's Huat

Yesterday was the seventh day of the Chinese New Year, which is traditionally known as ren ri, the day of humans and "everyone's birthday".

At Royal Plaza on Scotts, 208 guests and staff got together to toss to prosperity with a 28m-long yusheng, arguably the longest in Orchard.

The yusheng was made up of 168kg worth of ingredients such as carrot, radish, preserved green peach and salmon and was prepared over three days.

A team of 12 chefs took one hour to assemble the dish.

The hotel also celebrated Chinese New Year with a series of festivities, including a visit from the God of Wealth.
