ICA urges travellers to apply for passports early to avoid last-minute rush

Travellers planning to travel during the June school holidays are urged to ensure that their passport is valid for at least six months on the day they plan to leave Singapore.

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) on Tuesday said that many countries require a passport to be valid for at least six months as part of their entry requirements.

Those who hold passports with approaching expiry dates are encouraged to apply for new passports soon and make an e-appointment on ICA's website to avoid having to queue during peak hours.

Successful applicants will be notified by post to collect their new passport once it is ready. Singapore citizens can choose to collect their passports using a self-service machine in the ICA building, said ICA in a statement.
