Hundreds of singles show up for Dating Fest's finale gala dinner

SINGAPORE - The annual Dating Fest event drew to a close on Saturday with a gala dinner attended by around 500 singles.

This was the closing event of the six-week festival which featured a series of 150 dating activities and packages. It was organised by the Social Development Network (SDN).

The gala dinner at Marina Bay Sands was well-received, with more than 570 people signing up, although the event could only accommodate 502 of them. There were performances by local artistes and games.

The other dating activities and packages offered as part of Dating Fest over the last six weeks saw 1,450 sign-ups, about the same number as last year.

A total of 10 dating agencies recognised by SDNTrust, the accreditation arm of SDN, were involved in this year's festival, including CompleteMe.

Said its founder Michelle Goh: "Dating Fest has once again concluded successfully...we have seen many more new faces at our events during this period. The events opened their eyes to what dating activities entailed and cleared up misconceptions that they had about such activities."
