SINGAPORE - Household gas tariffs will be raised by 3.6 per cent, or 0.63 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh), said City Gas on Wednesday.

From August to October, tariffs will go from 17.62 cents per kWh to 18.25 cents per kWh. After the 7 per cent Goods and Services Tax, the revised tariffs would be 19.53 cents for every kWh.

This increase is due to a 12.7 per cent rise in fuel costs from the previous quarter, said the trustee of City Gas Trust.

City Gas reviews the tariffs based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority, which is the regulator for the gas industry.
